The Memorial Grove, located at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, is the area’s first and only cremation garden.
The Memorial Grove is an approximately 1 acre wooded area reserved solely for either the scattering of human cremains or, the burial of a cremation urn. The Memorial Grove has been designed to create a more natural, environmental setting for those individuals choosing cremation. While the grove is a part of Forest Hills and will be afforded the same general perpetual care as the rest of the cemetery, there will be a limited amount of raking and mowing in order to help maintain the grove’s natural setting. There are also special flower and decoration policies that are separate from the other sections at Forest Hills.
A stepping stone path will take visitors in from the cul-de-sac and through the arbor that stands at the entrance of the grove. Benches, bird feeders, gazing balls and bird houses will also help create a peaceful and reflective atmosphere. Additionally, wildflowers, ferns, flowers, ivy and ground coverings will be used to add extra beauty to this wooded section.
For memorialization, families will have an option of either an individual bronze memorial or, a small name plaque depending upon the section they select.
Forest Hills currently offers two memorial plan packages for both pre-arranging and at-need customers.
